Report for a South Midlands local authority as to Section 106 costs further to planning approval

Appointed as QS Consultants for a South Midlands Local Authority to investigate the veracity of Section 38 and other costs further to planning matters on a local development with a housing contractor in the locality. This is a Banbury office appointment.

£5M MEP project for a local contractor at Hinkley Point C in Somerset

Appointed as QS Sub-consultants for MEP works connected with Hinkley Point C, providing worker accommodation including 1500 bedrooms – the largest project of this type in Europe . This was a £5M NEC Option A subcontract, to agree Compensation Events and Final Account close out within 6 weeks of the August completion date. This is a Bristol office project.

3 year framework contract c£6M for National Grid substations project

Quantity Surveying services for a Tier 1 Utilities Contractor under NEC Options A, C and E contracts for substation upgrade works from South Wales along the South Coast to Kent. This is a JKD&Co Banbury office appointment.

QS Expert Witness John K Daly writes for Confederation of Construction Specialists magazine

Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Arbitrator and Panel Adjudicator John Daly shares a recent assignment in the July’s issue of CCS magazine. Reporting on a Single Joint Expert appointment in Litigation (as opposed to a party appointment) and enabling an early settlement of the case. This was further to a successful Expert Report, that was agreeable to both parties and for a set fee.

John runs the London, Bristol and Exeter offices of JKD & Co and is also periodically involved in International Expert Quantity Surveyor work.
