Adjudication Representative appointment for a Subcontractor dispute on a South West housing development against the developer involving matters of a Payless Notice and a Counterclaim. This is being dealt with by our London offices.

Cost Plan and Post Contract Services for a new works canteen in Devon

Initial Cost Planning services for a new canteen building to accommodate 150 people in Buckfastleigh, working alongside designers and engineers and advise on Contract and Procurement options going forward. This is an Exeter office project.

Eco conversion of former water reservoir tank into a private residence in South Devon 

Engaged for Estimating and Post Contract services for a £0.25M negotiated contract for a Civil Engineering package to convert of a former water reservoir tank and associated buildings into a domestic ‘Eco’ dwelling in South Devon. This is a Plymouth office project.

£5M MEP project for a local contractor at Hinkley Point C in Somerset

Appointed as QS Sub-consultants for MEP works connected with Hinkley Point C on a £5M NEC Option A subcontract to agree Compensation Events and Final Account close out within 6 weeks of the August completion date. This is a Bristol office project.

3 year framework contract c£6M for National Grid substations project

Quantity Surveying services for a Tier 1 Utilities Contractor under NEC Options A, C and E contracts for substation upgrade works from South Wales along the South Coast to Kent. This is a JKD&Co Banbury office appointment.

Expert Witness for Quantum in a Liquidation matter

John K Daly Chartered QS has been appointed in a dispute further to liquidation of a company and the subsequent novation of contract works. This is being run from JKD & Co’s Exeter offices.

Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Arbitrator and Panel Adjudicator John Daly shares a recent assignment in the July’s issue of CCS magazine. Reporting on a Single Joint Expert appointment in Litigation (as opposed to a party appointment) and enabling an early settlement of the case. This was further to a successful Expert Report, that was agreeable to both parties and for a set fee.

John runs the London, Bristol and Exeter offices of JKD & Co and is also periodically involved in International Expert Quantity Surveyor work.
